my main responsibility at Southgate elementary is to make sure students get help with the work that they are doing. i make sure that all papers are graded for the teachers so that they have and easier time and not so much work. i am also yard duty for one of the recesses. my title at my internship is a T.A and after school i am tutor for the intervention classes.Other tasks that i preform at my internship is making copies for the lesson. i also have the privilege to be the teacher i teach math lessons i also give out the spelling test and teach how to write cursive.A regular day for me is starting at 8:15 am. i go to my first class until 9 and that is  4th grade class i have been working with one specific girl and we do the warmups which takes that whole class period. then that class goes to since and i go to a 6th grade reading and language arts class until 11 there i do multiple things i do oral reading exams i grade homework and essays i also walk around helping students with their practice book work. between 9 and 11 there is recesses so at that time i am yard duty. at 1:05 i go to my 5th grade class which is like my home room i know all the students in there and all their names i know how they work and everything i spend most of the time with them. at 2:15 my last class i go to work the 3rd graders i do a lot of individual work with them one on one, either working on math or writing when the bell rings at 3 oclock i have 5 mins to get to my intervention class which is with 2nd graders and two 1st graders. there we work on just teaching the 1st graders how to read and the 2nd graders we teach them how to actually comprehend with the story. then at 4 oclock we get our papers signed and talk about how our day went with our mentors.

for this internship i am thinking for a project idea is to either make a diagnostic for the student i was shadowing in the intervention class or even in my 5th grade class. My other idea is to teach a lesson and have it be recorded and have the students talk about what they learned from it.i came up with this idea because wheni thought my first lesson my mentor said i did a great job. he told me i was a natural born teacher i fell like teaching a lesson would be a good project because now being a junior i realized that things you learn always stay with you and as you get older you learn the same things just in a more difficult way. i feel like what i teach them is going to have a huge impact on them.
i am excited to actually do this project because i am going to be able to show my teachers and my mentor that i am capable of being a good teacher and showing them what i instilled in the lives of these 4th graders. but i am a little sad because that means that i am closer to finishing my wle.

today at my wle i did many interesting things i learned that some 3rd graders cant do subtraction simple subtraction . but i started my day off in my 4th grade class helping out my student jessica she i has been doing a little better with her warmups because she is actually taking out time and completing them throughly and learning from them. i loved today because we had our intervention classes and i was really impressed with this 1st grader david he told me that he couldn't read because thats what he believed in. other students would tell him he couldn't read well i told him i believed in him and he can do anything and by the end of the class he read a whole book to me sounded out words and everything i also graded a lot of papers essays and answers to question from a book that they read. i also had one on one time with my 3rd graders and helped them write a personal narrative. which is really cool because thats when i felt like i really connected with them and learned more about that. i also did some one on one time with 5; 6th graders asking them how they felt about the year do they feel like they will  be ready to go to middle school. things like that so i can see where i can come in to place   there was many things that me and my mentor discussed about the project. he told me can video tape me he feels like this is a good project and it will benefit the students because they will need this as they go into 5th and 6th grade
no so far i have not accomplished my project yet but i am going to soon it is sort of simple so i feel like it would be easy to do. and its not that i am behind or i do not have a project there just is not a lesson i found yet that has completely interested me i don't want to teach the kids something that isn't going to stick with them forever and help them.

  1. I used thinking critically and communicating powerfully.I used them really well because  i needed to be able to communicate powerfully to people younger than me. watch everything that i would say and instill positive words in them. i would forget that they were elementary students and they are learning a lot and they are very curious so i would have to think before i would just speak and make sure that if they were listening to me i would say nothing but good stuff about being in school and being a teen and what middle school is like and all the choices you can make that will determine what you will be like in high school and in life. It helps me do my work because i am able to change the lives of the little kids.He uses communicating powerfully because he is always telling what techniques i can use with little kids and as a teacher and even in school. he helped me communicate better even with the students.

I first thought about all of the people that i know that have good jobs and people that i know anywhere that i had  a network connection and than i made a resume and had it revised to make sure that it was worthy to be used for an interview. i than called a lot of places and asked if they would consider having an intern after that i asked to set up interviews with those places.
the most effective way for looking for a job is having a really good resume and than having really good connections with people that have good jobs
the word professional for my adult work world means to be skilled and actually know what you are doing having your teaching credentials and goingto a 4 year college.  and the responsibility is much greater and you have a lot more work to do.
